22 Westlake Students Get Scholarships From PTA
The recipients of this year's scholarships exhibited academic success, as well as community and/or school involvement.

From Westlake Council PTA: Westlake Council of PTAs (Westlake Council) and its member PTA units are proud to announce 22 recent Westlake High School graduates as recipients of the 2018 PTA scholarships.
Since 1968, Westlake Council and its member PTAs have continued the proud tradition of awarding scholarships to deserving Westlake High School seniors who plan to pursue higher education at a college, university, or technical school. The Westlake Council and its member PTAs fundraise for these scholarships in many ways, including the annual Dollars for Scholars ;basketball game event, membership drives, and programming.
The recipients of this year's scholarships exhibited academic success, as well as community and/or school involvement through participation in athletics, music, clubs, service and employment. Each recipient received a $1,000 award from the respective PTA unit, totaling $22,000 in scholarships awarded.

Westlake Council of PTAs Scholarship: Mary Babinski, Donovan DuBois, Abigail Falcone, Meredith Hansen, Reilly Larcey, Laura Reilly, Matthew Vulku, and Rachel Zinram (each a General winner), Gabriel Leonard (Arts), Allison Routhier (Challenge), and Jack Wu (STEM/Technology); Bassett Elementary School PTA Scholarship: Holly Tomkalski; Dover Elementary School PTA Scholarship: Norah Wilson; Hilliard Elementary School PTA Scholarship: Megan Fulton; Holly Lane Elementary School PTA Scholarship: Nina Wilkinson; Dover Intermediate School PTA Scholarship: Angela Campo; Lee Burneson Middle School PTA Scholarship: Catherine Fulton; Westlake High School PTSA Scholarships: Ryan Karpuszka, Gabriela Kosakowski, Liv Adkins, and McKenna Simon (each a General winner), and Jillian Eddy (Service).
In addition to the Westlake PTA scholarships recently awarded, graduating seniors also had the opportunity to apply for Ohio PTA scholarships. Since its establishment in 1947, the Ohio PTA Memorial Scholarship program has assisted thousands of youth in realizing their dreams by providing academic, technical and special education scholarships. Students from all over Ohio that are graduating in school districts having one or more local PTA units may apply. The major portion of this scholarship fund is contributed voluntarily by local PTA units and councils.

This year , Westlake High School senior Jack Wu was chosen by the Ohio PTA Memorial Scholarship program to receive a $500 Academic Scholarship.
