24 Bags Of Suspected Cocaine Found During Westlake Traffic Stop

Police said two people have been charged with drug-related offenses.

WESTLAKE, OH — Police seized 24 bags of suspected cocaine after a traffic stop last week.

Police said they saw a car commit a traffic violation when leaving the Super 8 Motel on Sperry at approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 3. Before officers got to the car, they could see the occupants of the vehicle moving around, police said.

The driver, a Cleveland man, had a suspended license. The passenger, a Cleveland woman, was acting nervously, and officers saw evidence of drug use in the vehicle.

The woman told police she had drugs hidden on her person. She retrieved 24 individual bags of suspected cocaine and turned them over to police.

The driver was charged with trafficking drugs and tampering with evidence. Investigators believe he told the woman to hide the drugs for him.

The woman is being charged with felony tampering, police said.
