
1) Today is Flag Day, which originated back in 1885. On June 14, 1891, the Betsy Ross House held a Flag Day celebration in Philadelphia, and on June 14, 1892, the New York Society of the Sons of the Revolution celebrated Flag Day for the first time. 2) Artists of all ages and talents are invited to at from 11:00 a.m. to noon today. The library will provide the chalk; just bring your creativity!
3) The will be hosting the first class of the summer from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. todayat the Recreation Center Lake. The one-day class taught by Owen Murphy will teach casters of all abilities (10 years and older) basic and advanced casting skills. Rods and reels will be provided for those who don't have their own.
