Accused Shoplifter Identified By Westlake Police

WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake Police say they have identified a shoplifter that stole more than $200 of merchandise from H+M at Crocker Park in March. The suspect is accused of pushing an employee out of the way and running out of the store.

On March 7, a man stuffed merchandise from H+M into his pants and shirt. He then left the store without paying for the items. Before he was able to get out of the store, staff confronted him over the theft.

The man pushed an employee out of his way and then took off. Police said the suspect got away with more than $200 of merchandise from the Crocker Park store.

Last week, after almost exactly one month of investigation, police identified Ravin Malone, 32, of East Cleveland, as their lead suspect in the case. Malone has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Westlake Police said they are charging Malone with felony robbery for the theft.
