• 2 14-year-olds, 3 adults accused of shoplifting in Westlake (cleveland19.com) — Westlake police arrested two 14-year-olds and three adults after Ulta Beauty staff at Crocker Park reported a major theft of about $3,300 in merchandise earlier this week. Officers quickly stopped the suspects' vehicle, recovered the items, and are now comparing surveillance video to a separate $1,700 shoplifting case at Lululemon in Crocker Park believed to involve some of the same people.
   

• Store clerk stopped a cryptocurrency scammer — again. (news5cleveland.com) — A quick-thinking manager at the Westlake Marathon gas station recently stopped a woman from losing nearly her entire savings to a cryptocurrency phone scam, just months after saving another victim from an $18,000 loss. Working closely with Westlake police, she's urging residents not to answer unfamiliar numbers and to be skeptical of anyone demanding crypto payments for supposed fines or debts.
