• WESTLAKE: Commission tables Sheetz (westlifenews.com) — Westlake's Planning Commission has put plans for a new Sheetz gas station and the redevelopment of the former Wyndham Garden Hotel on hold, citing zoning, traffic, and buffering concerns at 1100 Crocker Road. Commissioners also advanced several other Westlake projects, including a new residential subdivision on Center Ridge, improvements at Mirchi House on Detroit, and final plans for Julie Billiart School on Crocker, with the Sheetz proposal set to return October 5.
   

• Rep. Sweeney Announces $8.5 million in Housing Support for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (ohiohouse.gov) — State Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney of Westlake helped secure $8.5 million in state funding to expand community housing for Ohioans with developmental disabilities, including about $2.3 million for 13 projects in Cuyahoga County. The money will support buying and renovating homes, improving accessibility features like ramps and doors, and giving more residents the option to live in neighborhood settings instead of institutions.
