Anti-Overdose Drug Given To Overdosing Woman In Westlake

Police said the woman was unresponsive when officers arrived at her home.

WESTLAKE, OH — A 25-year-old woman may have overdosed in her Westlake home on Thursday morning, police said. The woman's boyfriend was taken into custody after the woman was taken care of.

According to police, officers were called to a home on Hilliard Boulevard, near Bradley Road, at 3 a.m. on Thursday. Dispatch said there was a possible overdose inside the house. Westlake fire crews were also sent to investigate.

When police arrived, they found a 25-year-old woman inside. She was unresponsive and police and fire units gave her Narcan, an anti-overdose drug. She was then taken to University Hospitals St. John Medical Center.

While investigating at the woman's house, police discovered the woman's boyfriend had an active warrant for his arrest from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. He was taken into custody and moved to the Justice Center.

Police said investigators are still looking into the case.
