Armed Man Robs Convenience Store In Westlake
Police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect and solving this case.
WESTLAKE, OH — An armed man robbed the Convenient Store in Westlake on Friday, police said. Officers are asking the public for help identifying the robber.
The clerk at the Detroit Road store called police at about 10:20 p.m. on Friday. He said a man had just come into his store and robbed him at gunpoint.
The suspect had come into the store, whipped out a handgun, and demanded cash. The clerk handed over some money and the suspect ran out of the store.

The suspect was heavier set (between 180 and 220 pounds), and 6 feet tall or under, police said. He had a black beard and mustache, and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and possibly a dark stocking cap.
It is not clear where the man went after running out of the store, police said. Surveillance cameras in the store captured the incident and photos above this story are from that footage.

"The Westlake Police Detective Bureau is looking for any information on the identity of the male or other info on the robbery," a police spokesperson said. "Please call the Westlake Police Department's non-emergency line at 440-871-3311 with reports."
