Westlake Schools Calendar: 5 Must-Know Dates for Winter 2016-17

WESTLAKE, OH - Students in Westlake are in school for just a few more weeks until the extended winter holidays. And parents better pull out the calendar now and start making plans because winter break is just around the corner.

Winter break will start for students on Dec. 21 and run through Jan. 2. That's a lot of time to plan for and Patch will be releasing a steady stream of ideas on how you can spend your holiday time with your kids.

Here are some of the important upcoming dates:

• Winter Break Begins: Dec. 21, 2016
• Schools Resumes: Jan. 4, 2017
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 16, 2017
• End of 2nd Quarter/1st Semester: Jan. 19, 2017
• Staff Records Day (No School for Students): Jan. 20, 2017

In the run-up to the Winter Break, there will be some holiday themed events for the community. Starlets in the Snow will be held Dec. 15-16 in the Westlake High School Auditorium from 7 to 10 p.m. Holiday Hoopla will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 16 at Lee Burneson Middle and Dover Intermediate Schools.
