Bay Village Ranked Among Best Lakeside Towns In U.S.

BAY VILLAGE, OH - Bay Village is among the best beach towns near lakes in the U.S., according to a new WalletHub study.

To rank the cities, WalletHub split towns into two categories: municipalities near oceans and municipalities near lakes. Bay Village, obviously, fell into the latter grouping. WalletHub then compared the cities based on 62 metrics, including housing costs, share of for-sale waterfront homes to quality of beach water.

Bay Village was ranked as the 10th best lake town in America. The best lake town in the U.S. is Traverse City, Michigan, WalletHub said. Here's the entire top 10 for lake towns.

WalletHub specifically cited Bay Village's low property crime rate, which is 3.05 per 1,000 residents. By comparison, the highest crime rate in the study was 124.62, found in Branson, Missouri.

A few other Ohio cities made appearances on the WalletHub list, including Rocky River (ranked No. 12), Vermillion (No. 24), Ashtabula (No. 39), Oregon (No. 40), and Lorain (No. 45).
