Break-Ins At Westlake Businesses Likely Connected, Police Say
Thieves broke into the trailers of two Westlake businesses and stole car parts from the companies, police said.

WESTLAKE, OH — Two businesses were broken into on July 22, police said. Someone broke into three trailers at a Detroit Road business before stealing car parts from another company. Police said more than $5,000 worth of tools were stolen.
According to police, on July 22, at about 6:15 a.m., officers were called to OCS Processing. Callers said there had been a break-in at the business.
When officers arrived they discovered three work trailers had been broken into. Numerous tools were missing from the trailers. Police believe the stolen work tools are worth more than $5,000.

Surveillance video footage and other evidence was recovered by officers, police said.
Less than an hour after police discovered the break-in at OCS Processing, another Westlake business reported thefts from their vehicles and a break-in at one of their trailers.

At 7 a.m., a Bassett Road business called police and said several trucks had catalytic converters cut off of them. Police found that two catalytic converters were stolen and one trailer had been broken into. Nothing appeared to be missing from the trailer, police said.
Investigators think the two July 22 thefts are related. They also bear a resemblance to thefts that occurred earlier in 2019, police said.
