Burglars Steal Cars In Westlake, Crash In Cleveland
Two cars were stolen from a Westlake home and were then involved in a car accident in Cleveland, police said.
WESTLAKE, OH — Two cars stolen from a Westlake home were involved in a car accident in Cleveland on Dec. 26. Police believe the Westlake home was burglarized and investigators are collecting evidence from the house and the stolen cars.
At 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 26, Cleveland police were called to a car accident. One of the involved cars had driven away from the scene. Both cars involved in the accident were registered to a Westlake resident.
Westlake police were then contacted and went to the resident's home on Briarwood Court. Officers discovered the burglars had sneaked into the home and stole keys to both cars. Both cars were driven away without the owner realizing what was happening.

Police said they are still collecting and analyzing evidence from the home and from the recovered stolen cars.
