Caller Threatens To Kill Westlakers If They Don't Pay Him
The caller wanted $10,000 given to him over the phone and told his would-be victims they couldn't call the police.

WESTLAKE, OH — A caller threatened to kill three Westlake residents if they didn't pay $10,000. In one voicemail, the caller even said he was watching the resident's house and warned them not to call the police.
The calls came in on Sunday, Dec. 2, according to police. Two residents had messages left on their voicemails from an unknown caller, a third resident spoke to the person over the phone.
The caller told residents they needed to dial a certain number and send $10,000 over the phone. He threatened to kill them if they didn't do what he wanted.

Luckily, police said, all three people ignored the threats and called police. Each would-be victim is planning to report the calls to the Ohio Attorney General Scam Line.
Police said they are running extra patrols in the affected residents' neighborhood, as a safety precaution.
