Car Crash Severed Utility Pole In Westlake This Week

Police said a two car accident led to downed power lines, a destroyed mailbox and a severed utility pole.

WESTLAKE, OH - At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, callers told police there has been a serious car crash at the corner of Columbia and Hilliard.

Officers arrived on the scene and found that two cars had crashed into each other. One of the cars swerved onto a tree lawn on Columbia, hit a mailbox and severed a utility pole.

One of the driver's was injured and had to be taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, Westlake police said.

Columbia was closed for several hours on Wednesday evening while crews cleaned the debris from the road and restored the downed power lines and severed pole.
