The man was acting extremely nervous, police said. When questioned, the man said he had marijuana edibles in the vehicle, and had tried to destroy them when police pulled him over.

Officers searched the car and found the two were also in possession of "numerous grams" of cocaine and methamphetamine, along with digital scales and other paraphernalia used to sell drugs, police said. Both people are being charged with various crimes.

The Lakewood man is being charged with trafficking in drugs in the presence of a juvenile. Numerous other charges are pending against the man, police said.

The 16-year-old was taken home and turned over to her mother. She will be charged through juvenile court with obstructing officers because she lied about her identity.

Officers contacted 696-KIDS to connect the teenager and her family with additional resources to help her.
