Customer Threatened To Break Bartender's Arm In Westlake

Police said a man celebrating New Year's Eve early got violent when his credit card was declined.

WESTLAKE, OH — Between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, Westlake police dealt with four disorderly persons cases. Four people were taken into custody, including a man who threatened to break a bartender's arm.

According to Westlake police, at 4 p.m. on New Year's Eve, officers were called to Yard House, on Union Street. Callers said a person inside the restaurant was threatening employees.

When police arrived, they saw a man staggering outside the restaurant, holding a beer. The man told police he lived in Australia, but appeared confused about what was happening.

Staff at Yardhouse said the man's credit card was declined and the man then threatened to break the bartender's arm. The man, 47, was taken into custody by police. He faces charges for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Police said three other people were taken into custody for disorderly conduct while intoxicated during the holiday.
