'Destroyed Tortilla Chips' Lead Westlake PD To Intoxicated Woman
A trail of crushed tortilla chips helped police find a woman that was making a ruckus in a local apartment building last week.
WESTLAKE, OH — A "trail of destroyed tortilla chips" led police to an intoxicated woman passed out in the hallway of a building on April 3.
Late on last Wednesday, a Crossings Parkway resident called police and said a woman was banging on an apartment door. The caller said it looked like the woman might be trying to break into the apartment. It was 10:40 p.m.
Officers went to the scene and were able to follow, what they called, a "trail of destroyed tortilla chips" in the hallway to the woman. The woman, a 46-year-old Westlake woman, appeared to be highly intoxicated, police said.

The woman was placed in custody and taken to Westlake jail to sober up. She was later charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
