Do You Recognize This Man? Westlake Cops Say He's A Shoplifter
Police released images of a man wanted for trying to shoplift cases of energy drinks from a local convenience store.
WESTLAKE, OH — Police are asking the public for help finding a man that attempted to shoplift cases of Red Bull energy drink from a BP station on Columbia and Detroit roads.
At about 7:30 p.m. on September 20, police were called to the BP after the owner called and said someone had tried to steal four cases of energy drink. The theft scheme was a two-man game, investigators found.
The owner said a man had come into the store and picked up two cases of Red Bull. He placed them on the counter and started chatting with the clerk. While the clerk was distracted, another man came into BP and picked up two more cases of Red Bull from the coolers.

The second man started heading toward the doors when the clerk and the owner noticed he was leaving with the concealed merchandise. As they went to talk with the man, he said, "I'm not going down for this" and then dropped the Red Bull and ran across Detroit Road.
During the commotion, the first man also slipped out of the store. He didn't take any merchandise.
