Drunk Driver Sends 2 People To Hospital: Westlake Police
Police said the man did not know he had been in a car crash. An 11-year-old was sent to the hospital after the accident.

WESTLAKE, OH — A drunk driver crashed his car outside of a Westlake bar and then acted belligerently toward officers, police said. The car accident the man had been involved in sent two people to the hospital, including an 11-year-old.
The car crash happened at approximately 5 p.m., on Sperry Drive, outside Hooley House. As officers investigated what happened, and paramedics attended to the injured, one of the drivers showed signs of being intoxicated.
The man, a 60-year-old from Rocky River, didn't know who they police were, despite the uniforms and cop cars with blue and red flashing lights, police said. The man did not believe he had been in a car crash.

Police said the man became belligerent when paramedics tried to treat his injuries. The man refused to take an alcohol test, and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was cited for operating a vehicle impaired and failure to yield.

The man's license has been suspended. Two people from the struck vehicle, one of which was 11, were taken to a hospital too. Police said they did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
