Drunken Driver Causes Crash At Westlake Intersection
Police said the drive of the struck car had to take the other driver's keys to keep her from leaving.
WESTLAKE, OH — After an accident at a major Westlake intersection, a drunken driver yelled at a man after hitting his car, police said. That driver later tested at four times the legal limit for alcohol in her system, according to Westlake police.
Callers reported a car accident at the corner of Center Ridge and Columbia roads on August 26 at 2:20 p.m. Police were told a man had pulled a woman from her car in the roadway.
When police arrived they saw the wreckage of the accident and learned the woman had driven her car into the man's vehicle. When the man went to check on the woman, he found her highly intoxicated.

The man took the other driver's keys from her ignition to keep her from leaving. The woman then yelled at the man, according to police. Luckily, no one was hurt in the crash or in the ensuing argument.
Police put the woman through a series of field sobriety tests and determined she was intoxicated. She was taken into custody on suspicion of operating a vehicle impaired.

At Westlake Jail, the woman, a 54-year-old from North Ridgeville, tested four times over the legal limit for blood-alcohol. Her license was suspended, police said.
