Join us on National Cancer Survivors Day (June 5) rain or shine for The Gathering Place’s 11th annual Race for the Place. The Gathering Place is a community-based cancer support center that focuses on the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer and their family and friends. All proceeds from the event will help fund the free programs and services provided by The Gathering Place at its two locations, one in Beachwood and the other in Westlake.
Runners and walkers are welcome to participate in either the 1 Mile or 5K. For the first time in the race’s history, the 5K will be chip timed.
Celebration Village will also be open for family activities including face painting, games, post-race refreshments, music and more. A ceremony will take place after the race in which awards will be given for the team that has the most members AND for the team that raises the most money in three categories: corporate, community and schools.
