Ex-Girlfriend Possibly Monitoring Westlake Man's Home
The man and his neighbors say they have seen a drone buzzing above the man's house. The man says he has footage of the drone.
WESTLAKE, OH - Some people have a hard time letting go after a break-up. Most people don't watch their ex's house with a flying spy camera. One Westlake man thinks his ex may be the exception to that rule. Read on for more information on that incident and others.
Trespassing, April 14 - Police escorted a 45-year-old Oberlin man out of a Clague Road office building twice on April 14. The man left once after causing a commotion and bringing Westlake Police to the scene. The man came back 35 minutes later and was again sent on his way. The city prosecutor will consider a Trespass charge against him.
Violating Temporary Protection Order, April 14 - A 35-year-old Rocky River man went to his ex-girlfriend's home on Hedgewood Avenue and banged on the door. The man had a temporary protection order (TPO) out against him, but went to the house anyways. He was stopped nearby and arrested for Attempted Burglary and Violating a TPO and on warrants from the Cuyahoga County and Madison County Sheriffs. The victim also suspects the man was prowling around her home on April 13.

Theft, April 14 - Cash and gift cards were taken from a North Ridgeville woman's purse on April 14. The theft is believed to have occurred at the woman's Dover Center Road workplace.
Unauthorized Use, April 15 - A Cleveland man lent a 37-year-old relative a 2007 Chevrolet van that belongs to a Clemens Road company. The Cleveland man owns the Clemens Road company. The vehicle was lent on March 25 and had not been returned as of April 15. The owner of the vehicle wasn't sure he wanted to prosecute until April 15.

Petty Theft, April 15 - A Maple Heights woman stole $80 worth of property from a Detroit Road store. Staff detained the woman until police arrived and arrested her for Petty Theft.
Suspicion, April 15 - A man's ex-girlfriend may be monitoring his house with a drone. The man said he saw a drone buzzing above his home on April 15, and the man's neighbors say they have also seen it. The man says he has video of the drone above his house but has yet to provide that footage to Westlake Police.
Underage Consumption, April 16 - Police saw a 19-year-old Westlake woman had puked in the parking lot of a closed Dover Center Road gas station. A sober friend took her home but the woman will receive a summons for Underage Consumption.
Theft, April 17 - Thirteen blank checks were reported stolen from a Clemens Road business. A woman tried to cash one of the checks at a Cleveland store on April 15 but lost her nerve and left when an employee called to verify the authenticity of the check. The woman has been identified and an arrest warrant has been issued for her.
