Fundraiser Benefits Westlake's Poor, Needy
The second annual "What's Brewing in Westlake" event blew past its fundraising goal last month, the city announced.

WESTLAKE, OH — "What's Brewing in Westlake" blew past its fundraising goal last month. The event, which happened July 25, collected more than $3,000 for the city's social services programs.
“We’re very grateful to our event sponsors and volunteers for such a successful and meaningful event,” said Lydia Gadd, senior and community services director for Westlake. “Many are surprised to hear me speak about poverty in Westlake. Funds raised from this event will greatly aid Westlake social services in providing for those in need."
This was the second annual "What's Brewing" fundraiser and networking event. Sibling Revelry and Rosewood Grill co-sponsored the event with Equity Trust. The organizational support allowed 100 percent of ticket sales to be directed to the Westlake Senior and Community Services Department, which provides aid to hundreds of Westlake residents.
