WESTLAKE, OH — Good Samaritans may have helped save an overdosing woman's life on Wednesday, police said.
Police and fire department crews were called to a car accident on I-90 west, between Columbia and Crocker roads, at 6 p.m.. A caller said bystanders were performing CPR on the driver, who appeared to have stopped breathing.
Officers learned that while the involved vehicle didn't hit anything, the driver appeared to have passed out while on I-90 and drifted off the roadway, onto the berm. There was evidence of drug use and the driver was treated for an opioid overdose, police said.
