Head-On Car Crash In Westlake Sends 2 To Hospital
Police said one of the drivers had to be extricated from their car by the fire department.

WESTLAKE, OH — Two cars collided head-on in Westlake on March 1, police announced. One of the drivers had to be extricated from their car and rushed to a hospital.
The crash happened at 6:30 p.m. on Clague Road. Callers told police there had been a head on car accident in the 1900 block of Clague.
The male driver of one of the cars appeared to be seriously injured, a Westlake police spokesperson said. He had to be extricated from the car by the Westlake Fire Department. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital.

A Westlake police spokesperson said the man has since been released from medical care and will head to a rehabilitation facility.
The driver of the other car appeared to suffer only minor injuries, Westlake police said. She was also taken to the hospital for an examination.

The man's wife was a passenger in the car and told police they were coming home from a fishing trip, a department spokesperson said. The man had a warrant for his arrest.
Police said they believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
