Hyland Software Expanding Westlake HQ, Hiring 330 New Employees
The majority of the new hires will be located at the Westlake campus, a company spokesperson says.

WESTLAKE, OH - Hyland Software announced on Monday that it will add 330 employees in 2017 and expand its Westlake headquarters. The company says it will build a 70,000-square foot wing on its research and development center, with a target completion date of 2018.
“This is an exciting time for Hyland. This expansion reflects our continued growth and is one of many initiatives underway to support our growing global customer base,” said Bill Priemer, president and CEO at Hyland, in a press release. “We feel fortunate to be in this position and look forward to welcoming employees, customers and partners to our new space."
Construction on the new wing begins Monday and is expected to be completed in May 2018. The work will take place at the center at 28105 Clemens Rd. The new wing will include office space for an additional 400 employees and a state-of-the-art training center.

Hyland has been experiencing exponential growth over the past 10 years. Tyson Meikle, team lead for recruiting at Hyland, says the company crossed the 1,000 employee mark about six years ago. Now the company employs 2,230 people, with another 330 inbound this year. The majority of the new hires will be located at the Westlake campus, he says.
"The big thing is how well OnBase is received on the market. We’re in-demand and when you have demand, you have growth. With how well our individuals have done in product development and sales and service, we need more personnel to drive further efforts," Meikle says.

The additional 330 employees will be hired throughout 2017, Meikle says. The company has already hired 50 additional employees and expects another wave in May and June when colleges graduate their senior classes.
The new positions will be a mixture of entry-level and experienced roles. Hyland partners with colleges, alumni groups, and professional organizations throughout Northeast Ohio and will recruit through those channels. They will also engage in direct reach out to talent at other companies, Meikle says.
