Intoxicated Women Taken Into Custody At Crocker Park: Police
Two women, taking care of a baby, were taken into custody after arguing with police.
WESTLAKE, OH — Two women were taken into custody at Crocker Park after becoming intoxicated while taking care of a small child, police said.
On July 8, at about 9 p.m., callers reported that two women were at the bar of Brio Restaurant and appeared to be intoxicated. One caller said they believed the child had not been "changed in a few hours." The callers told police they were concerned for the child's well-being.
Officers arrived and quickly located the two women described by callers. One of the women, the mother, was caring for a 2-month-old baby.

The mother's friend was uncooperative with police and refused to identify herself, police said. She was placed into custody on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated. The friend, a 27-year-old from Elyria, was taken to Westlake Jail.
The mother of the child, a 36-year-old Westlake woman, appeared to also be very intoxicated, police said. She was struggling to keep her eyes open while holding her child and talking to police. Officers and staff at Brio had to convince the woman to put the baby into a stroller, police said.

After the baby was in the stroller, police took the Westlake woman tried to take the Westlake woman into custody. She began fighting with police but was restrained, police said. She faces possible charges of resisting arrest, endangering children, and DCI.
The father of the child was located and he took custody of the baby.
