There's no need to feel guilty about eating a sundae this Sunday in honor of National Ice Cream Day, created by Ronald Reagan in 1984 to celebrate one of the nation's favorite desserts.

"Honey Hut will always have a special place in my heart," said Jennifer Lowell of Westlake. "The fruit flavors are just so good."

Mitchell's has plenty of seasonal flavors to enjoy right now like peach and coconut chip, along with some new ones to try.

"The caramel sea salt has been blowing people out of the water," said Andrew Hightower at Mitchell's. "It's got that sweet and salty flavor."

Hightower said that some of the other new favorites are the black raspberry chocolate chunk and the campfire s'more, which has roasted campfire marshmallow ice cream base.

"It's for those campfire s'more lovers," Hightower said. "You can taste the smoke."
