Large Amount Of Weed, Stolen Gun Found In Westlake Traffic Stop

Police said the gun was stolen from someone in Cleveland. The weapon was loaded when police found it on the suspect.

WESTLAKE, OH — A stolen, loaded handgun and a "large amount" of marijuana were found during a traffic stop on I-90 on June 29. Police said they have arrested a suspect for felony receiving stolen property and improper transport of a firearm, as well as drug trafficking.

The gun and weed were found during a traffic stop. Officers pulled a vehicle over at about 11:10 a.m., on I-90 west, near the Lorain County line, police said.

The driver, a 34-year-old Cleveland man, had a loaded handgun in his possession. Police discovered the weapon was reported as stolen out of the city of Cleveland.

Officers then found, what they described as, a "large amount" of marijuana in the vehicle. An image of what police found shows a black handgun and two clear plastic baggies filled with weed. That image can be seen above this article.
