Man With 55 Traffic Violations Stopped By Westlake Police
The man had a suspended driver's license, a loaded gun and narcotics in his car, police said.
WESTLAKE, OH — A man who had more than 50 driving violations was taken into custody by police on July 31. Westlake police said the man had a loaded handgun and narcotics in his vehicle.
Police spotted a car at Crocker and Detroit roads at about 1:30 p.m. Officers watched as the driver committed a traffic violation, so police stopped the car.
The driver, a 33-year-old Westlake man, had more than 55 violations for driving with a suspended license, police discovered. The man's license was suspended when police stopped him on July 31.

The man appeared to be intoxicated when officers spoke with him, a Westlake police spokesperson said. Officers searched the man's car and found the loaded gun and drugs inside the vehicle.
The driver was taken into custody and has been charged with felony having weapons under disability, meaning he was barred from having a gun because of his previous convictions for drug possession and drug trafficking.
