Man Overdoses, Dies In Westlake Hotel Room

Police said a 31-year-old Fairview Park man died in a Westlake hotel. They suspect heroin and crack cocaine played a part in his death.

WESTLAKE, OH — A Fairview Park man overdosed and died in a Westlake hotel room before the end of 2018. Police suspect heroin and crack cocaine contributed to the man's death.

At 11 a.m. on Dec. 30, police were called to Towne Place Suites on Sperry Road. Callers said a man was overdosing in one of the hotel rooms.

Officers arrived and tried to resuscitate the man. They were unsuccessful and the 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they suspect heroin and crack cocaine played a role in the man's overdose.

Westlake police said they have located a witness to the overdosing and have interviewed them. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner and Westlake Detective Bureau are working together to investigate the death.
