WESTLAKE, OH — Police stopped a car that left the Red Roof Inn and began committing traffic violations on Thursday. Officers found methamphetamine, a scale and baggies inside the car.

After stopping the car on Clemens Road, police talked to the driver. The 54-year-old Michigan man behind the wheel appeared intoxicated. He told police that "someone" had consumed marijuana in the car earlier.

When police searched the car they found the methamphetamine, along with an assortment of drug paraphernalia, according to Westlake police reports. The Michigan man was taken into custody, but he told police he had recently taken GHB (sometimes called the date rape or club drug). Officers took the man to the hospital to see a doctor.
