Minivan Crashes Into Utility Pole On Christmas Eve In Westlake

The driver was not injured, but police believe she was intoxicated.

WESTLAKE, OH — A minivan drove into a utility pole on Christmas Eve in Westlake. Police believe the driver was intoxicated.

At 11:30 p.m., police were told a minivan had hit a pole on Colombia Road, near Westwood Road. The driver was not hurt in the crash.

Police said the driver was a 64-year-old woman from Rocky River. She showed signs of intoxication, so officer field tested her.

The woman was arrested for operating a vehicle impaired and failure to control. She was taken to Westlake Jail where she was given a breath test. The woman was found to be well over the legal limit for blood alcohol concentration, police said.
