More Than A Pound Of Marijuana Found During Westlake Traffic Stop

Police said the marijuana was in both raw, plant form and in edibles, food laced with marijuana.

WESTLAKE, OH — More than a pound of marijuana was found in a car stopped by Westlake Police on Tuesday.

At 11 a.m., officers saw a car leaving the Red Roof Inn on Clemens. The vehicle committed a traffic violation and was stopped, police said.

The driver, a 31-year-old from Michigan, was carrying a large pocket knife and smelled strongly of marijuana. Officers investigated the man's car.

Inside the vehicle, there was more than a pound of marijuana — in both edible form and plant form, police said. Officers also found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The Michigan man is being charged with felony possession of marijuana, criminal tools, drug paraphernalia and carrying various weapons.
