OD'ing Man Crashes On I-90 in Westlake

The man was revived with five doses of narcan administered by Westlake Police.

WESTLAKE, OH β€” A Bedford man crashed his car on the Columbia Road exit of I-90 while he overdosed on heroin last week. The heroin epidemic in Ohio has reached spread its deadly talons into every community, and Westlake is no exception. Read on for more information on that June 3 incident and others from this past week.

Obstructing Official Business, June 2 - After being stopped by police on I-90 east, a 28-year-old Brooklyn man lied to police about his identity. Of course, the man claimed not to know his own social security number. He also said he would have to call his mother to confirm his own date of birth. He eventually came clean about his identity and was cited for driving under suspension and arrested for obstructing official business.

OVI, June 3 - A 30-year-old Bedford man overdosed on heroin and spun out on the Columbia Road exit of I-90 west. He was revived with five doses of narcan administered by police. He was cited for OVI and transported to St. John Medical Center. A urine sample was sent to the Medical Examiner's Office.

DCI, June 4 - An intoxicated man wandered through the parking lot of a Main Street bar, pulling on car doors. He then urinated in public before wandering into a Detroit Road restaurant. He was arrested for DCI.

Harassment, June 4 - A 21-year-old Lakewood man was desperate to talk to an ex-girlfriend, so he called her business on Center Ridge Road 50 times on June 4. When police called the man, he cursed at them and hung up.

Fraud, June 4 - A Glen Valley Drive woman's bank called her about a suspicious $135 purchase on her credit car. The purchase was made in Strongsville, although the woman still had the card in her possession.

Assault, June 5 - A Westlake woman made false claims on social media saying she had been injured by her boyfriend. A third party called Westlake Police about the posts. It was found that the woman needed mental health assistance. She was transported to St. John Medical Center by Westlake Fire, where she tried to bite an employee.

Fraud, June 5 - A Persimmon Drive man got correspondence from a bank in April about two accounts he had not opened. The bank is going to send him additional paperwork. The man filed a report with Westlake Police.

Theft, June 5 - Unlocked cars frequently result in stolen items. Leaving items in unlocked cars is...not as commong. A Wonetta Parkway woman found a pair of red pants and a belt in her 2010 Cadillac, apparently left by a generous prowler.
