Pile Of Stolen Clothes Found During Westlake Traffic Stop

The driver said she bought the stolen items from someone off social media.

WESTLAKE, OH — A pile of new clothes, with security tags and price tags attached, were found in the back of a car stopped on I-90, near Crocker, by police. The driver has been arrested and charged for receiving stolen property, police said.

A car with an equipment violation was pulled over on October 14, at about 6:30 p.m. The owner of the car had an active warrant for his arrest, but the owner was not in the car.

The driver, a 24-year-old woman from Cleveland, also had an active warrant for her arrest and had a suspended license. Police impounded the vehicle, but not before searching the car.

Several new clothing items, with security and price tags attached, were found in the car. There were also tools to remove anti-theft devices from clothes in the vehicle.

The driver told police she bought the clothes from someone on social media. She said she suspected the clothes were stolen, but bought them anyways.

The 24-year-old was arrested and is being charged with receiving stolen property, driving under suspension, possession of criminal tools, and is being held on her warrant, police said.
