Police Looking For Westlake Tool Thief

The public is being asked to help identify a man who stole $2,000 of tools from a work site.

WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake police are looking for a man who stole tools from a job site on Detroit Road.

On Nov. 3, a contractor working at a business on Detroit contacted police and said someone had stolen tools from his work site. The theft occurred in the morning, in the brief time the contractor left to get more supplies.

Witnesses told police they saw a man walking near the tools. Police said the stolen equipment is valued at approximately $2,000.

The suspect was last seen getting into a car that looked like an old, black-and-white police cruiser. Photos of the suspect were pulled from surveillance footage.
