Prowler Seen Breaking Into Westlake Car

The suspect was startled by a resident and took off running down Mozart Drive, according to police.

WESTLAKE, OH — An older man was seen rummaging through a Schubert Drive resident's car last weekend, police said. Investigators are still looking for the man.

A little before 3 a.m. on March 30, a resident on Schubert saw a man break into his car, which was parked in the driveway of his home. The resident burst outside and the suspect was scared off.

The suspect was last seen running between houses on Mozart Drive. Surveillance footage of the incident was captured by the resident and has been provided to police.

The suspect is described as an older white man. He was wearing a light colored hoodie and pants, according to the police description.

In what may be an unrelated incident, on April 1, a collection of tools, valued at $250, was stolen from an unattached garage on Caroline Circle. There are no suspects in that crime at this time, police said.
