Purses Snatched From Brio Customers At Crocker Park
The thief or thieves took the credit cards from the purses and racked up thousands of dollars in charges at the Apple Store.

WESTLAKE, OH — It took 15 minutes for someone to grab a woman's purse and rack up thousands of dollars in charges using her credit cards. The purse was snatched at Brio Restaurant in Crocker Park, and the charges were made at the nearby Apple Store, police said.
The theft happened October 6 and appears to have inspired a copycat performance. Less than a week after the first theft, on October 12, someone again snatched a purse from a diner at Brio and then went to the Apple Store and racked up charges at the Apple Store.
In the first instance, the diner left their purse at the restaurant mistakenly, leaving and then returning in less than 15 minutes. It was too late. The purse was gone and the charges were made.

In the second theft, the purse was hanging off a chair. The wallet and credit cards were covertly taken from the purse while it dangled from the chair, police said.
Police noted they are working with both Brio and Apple Store to identify the thief or thieves.
