Resurfacing Project To Delay Westlake Drivers
The Columbia Road Resurfacing plan rumbles forward. Crews will be working at the intersection of Columbia and Center Ridge Road.

WESTLAKE, OH — Drivers in Westlake will have at least one more delay to deal with before winter. The Columbia Road Resurfacing project is claiming part of Center Ridge Road as its next victim. The work on the street has already begun.
The city said on its website that the project is on Columbia Road southbound at Center Ridge. The resurfacing stretches 1.3 miles into North Olmsted.
Drivers are warned to expect delays. If possible, commuters should avoid the area. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Westlake newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)

The resurfacing project is a collaboration between Westlake, North Olmsted and the Ohio Department of Transportation. The project is 80 percent funded by the federal government.
The project is not simply a resurfacing. Crews will also work on a catch basin, curb and handicap ramp repair and re-striping the road to meet federal standards. The project is expected to last 75 days.
