Rocky River Chamber Music Society Opens its 57th Season
Aeolus Quartet from New York City performs on September 28 at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church

After a busy summer performing across the country, the Aeolus Quartet will stop in Rocky River to present a concert of Haydn, Bartok, and Dvorak on Monday, September 28, 7:30 p.m. at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Blvd. This concert marks the beginning of the Rocky River Chamber Music Society’s 57th season of presenting professional chamber music concerts to the northeast Ohio community--all for no admission charge!
Founded in 2008 right here at the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Aeolus Quartet now serves as the Graduate Resident String Quartet at the Juilliard School in New York City. Since its creation the Quartet (named for the Greek god Aeolus who governed the four winds) has steadily won competitions and garnered numerous awards. According to the Dallas Morning News it has performed across the globe with concerts “worthy of a major-league quartet.”
The members of the Quartet--Nicholas Tavani and Rachel Shapiro, violin; Gregory Luce, viola, and Alan Richardson, cello—are especially dedicated to bringing music into the community and have been widely recognized for their innovative outreach programs. In addition, the Aeolus Quartet has produced two recordings, Many-Sided Music and Aeolus Quartet Performs Brahms and Bartok.
