Rocky River Chamber Music Society Presents Vienna Piano Trio
The internationally acclaimed Vienna Piano Trio comes to the west side on March 9 at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Rocky River

It is not every day that the Vienna Piano Trio comes to Rocky River! The Trio has performed on the major stages of Europe, North and South America, Australia, and the Far East for over 25 years. As part of its current North American tour, the Trio will perform Beethoven, Schönberg, and Brahms in Rocky River on Monday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the acoustically excellent sanctuary of West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Blvd. As is true of all concerts presented by the Rocky River Chamber Music Society, there is no admission charge and all are welcome.
Founded in 1988, the Vienna Piano Trio has won numerous prizes at international competitions and its mentors have included such icons as Isaac Stern, Ralph Kirshbaum, Joseph Kalichstein, the Beaux Arts Trio, and the Guarneri Quartet. The Vienna Piano Trio has been called “the Beaux Arts Trio of the 21st century (Baltimore Sun),” and “one of the world’s leading ensembles of violin, cello, and piano (Washington Post).”
The Vienna Piano Trio has also won many awards for its recordings on the Naxos, Nimbus, and MDG labels. The Trio’s 2009 Haydn recording was given five stars by BBC Music Magazine and in 2010 was awarded the Echo Klassik Prize, Germany’s major classical music award. In addition to its concert and recording activities, the Trio has given master classes at London’s Wigmore Hall as well as conservatories throughout Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
