Safety And Wellness Fair Coming To Westlake
Residents will have a chance to get free bike helmets during the free event.
WESTLAKE, OH — More than 70 exhibitors will fill the Westlake Recreation Center on May 18 as part of the city's annual Community Safety and Wellness Fair.
The free event is open to the public and will be held May 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair is a collaboration between the city of Westlake and University Hospitals St. John Medical Center.
“Health and safety are important aspects to ensuring happy families and communities,” said Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough. “We’re happy to partner with UH St. John Medical Center in offering this free fair to the community.”

The event will feature more than 70 exhibitors, 10 different health screenings, a touch-a-truck attraction and WOIO Channel 19 Meteorologist Kelly Dobeck. Attendees will have the chance to meet Dobeck and learn how to give a weather report.
There will also be a giveaway of children's bicycle helmets, while supplies last, the city said.

The event also offers plenty of opportunities to do good in the community. Attendees can take part in the Vitalant Blood Drive, donate hair at the Wigs for Kids Cut-a-Thon, or donate non-perishable food items to the Westlake Food Pantry.
Food pantry donors will get a free "Community Health and Safety Fair Spring into Health" T-shirt while supplies last.
At 10:15 a.m., just after the fair opens, an Honor Guard, featuring active service members, law enforcement, and veterans, will present the flag in observance of Armed Forces Day.
Parking for the fair will available at Westlake High School. Attendees can then ride Lolly the Trolley to the fair.
