Seriously, Lock Your Cars: More Thefts From Westlake Vehicles
Unlocked cars parked outside were again the target of prowlers in Westlake.

WESTLAKE, OH — Lock your cars whenever you're leaving them unattended. Also, don't leave valuables in plain sight in your vehicle. These are basic tips that could have prevented two recent thefts in Westlake.
There were actually three thefts from automobiles on August 27, police said. The first two were reported in the morning and occurred overnight. Both cars had been left unlocked and were parked on Bay Landing Drive. A small amount of cash had been stolen.
The third theft happened that afternoon. A business on Sperry Road reported that someone took a license plate off the rear of a vehicle. The plate has been entered as stolen in police databases.

"This is a good reminder to always lock your vehicle when unattended and hide your valuables in the car/truck," a Westlake police spokesperson said. He added that it might be a better idea to simply not leave valuables unattended in a vehicle.
