Shooting Threat Made Toward Westlake Business
A former employee of Dave & Buster's reportedly threatened to "shoot up" the arcade and restaurant.

WESTLAKE, OH — A former employee of Dave & Buster's threatened to shoot up the business on April 7, according to Westlake Police. When police arrested the ex-staffer, they found a handgun in his car.
At about 1 p.m. on April 7, police got a call from employees at Dave & Buster's. They said that an ex-employee had come into the arcade and restaurant and was causing a disturbance. He had also threatened current staffers, saying in a text message that he was going to "shoot up" the business.
Officer rushed to the scene, but the suspect had left before they arrived. Luckily, they were able to catch-up to his car, which was just a short distance away.

Police spoke to the former employee, a 26-year-old from Elyria. They determined that he had in fact threatened the business and its employees.
Police searched the man's car and found a handgun in his vehicle. The 26-year-old was arrested and has been charged with making a terroristic threat, along with misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and criminal trespassing.

The former employee has made an initial appearance in Rocky River Municipal Court.
