Shopper Accidentally Shoots Gun In Westlake Store

Police were able to recover the spent bullet and want a warrant for the shopper's arrest.

WESTLAKE, OH — Police dealt with two very different firearm incidents Oct. 13 on Center Ridge Road. One incident was an accident, the other an intentional destruction of property.

The first incident took place at a Center Ridge Road store. A 63-year-old Hudson man was carrying a .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun on him while shopping.

No one was hurt. Staffers quickly told the man to leave the store and he did so. Police later recovered the spent bullet at the store and are now seeking a warrant for the man for illegally discharging a firearm.

The second incident took place at a Center Ridge Road home. Two Cleveland men, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old, were found causing damage to the house. They were shooting a BB gun at the home.

Both men were arrested for discharging firearms. The 25-year-old also had a marijuana pipe on his person and was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
