Shotgun Wielding Westlake Man Threatens Person: Police Blotter

The resident was having his car repossessed so he threatened a man with a shotgun, police said.

WESTLAKE, OH β€” A Westlake man threatened an employee of a repossession company last week, police said. The resident reportedly came out of his house with a shotgun.

On Sunday morning, police were called to a home on Hidden Acres. A caller had reported that a man with a gun appeared to be threatening another person.

When officers arrived they spoke with an employee of a repossession company. The employee said he arrived at the Westlake home to repossess a car. The owner of the car came out with a shotgun, he told police.

The man accused of threatening the employee spoke with officers outside his house. Police found two shotguns in his home, which were taken as evidence.

The resident was then taken into custody on suspicion of menacing, along with possession of weapons under disability. The resident had a prior felony conviction that prevented him from owning weapons, police said.
