Suspected Crack Cocaine Found In Westlake Motel: Police
Police said they were at a motel taking a report on a missing minivan when they noticed white rocks sitting in plain view.

WESTLAKE, OH — A Cleveland man staying at a Westlake motel had a really bad day in late September. After calling police to report that a friend had taken his 2005 Dodge Caravan and not returned it, the man was arrested for having what appeared to be crack cocaine in his possession.
Officers were sent to the Super 8 Motel at about 3:30 p.m. on September 21. A caller had reported that his minivan had been taken without his permission and he wanted to file a police report.
When officers arrived they were greeted by a 73-year-old Cleveland man. He told police he had loaned his Caravan to a woman he's known for about five years. She had taken the vehicle, but hadn't returned it, as promised. The woman had also taken a cell phone and credit card, without permission.

Police took a report on the missing property, but they noticed something in the man's room. Sitting, in plain view according to police, was what appeared to be crack cocaine, crack smoking pipes, and other drug paraphernalia.
The Clevelander was arrested and has initially been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released, but additional charges are pending based on lab results of the white rocks that were collected in the man's motel room.
