Suspected Crack Cocaine Found On Woman In Westlake

Police were investigating a possible credit card fraud when they discovered the suspected narcotics in the woman's possession, police said.

WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake cops found suspected crack cocaine in a woman's possession during the waning weeks of June, according to police.

Police were called to Dick's Sporting Goods at 9 p.m. on June 22. Callers said there had been a suspected credit card fraud incident at the store.

After investigating, police located the suspect who did have $1,200 of merchandise from Dick's in her possession. However, the woman was allowed to use the credit cards, police discovered. However, the woman lied about her name and date of birth.

When officers discovered her actual identity, they learned she had two active arrest warrants. Police also found several rocks of suspected crack cocaine and a smoking pipe in the woman's possession.

Police took the 32-year-old woman into custody on suspicion of falsification, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and for her warrant.s
