Suspected Heroin Users Taken Into Custody At Westlake McDonald's
Police said callers reported that a group of people appeared to be shooting up in the parking lot of the restaurant.

WESTLAKE, OH — Callers reported a group of people suspected of shooting up heroin in the parking lot of the Westlake McDonald's this month.
At about 5 p.m. on May 14, police got word that there was a suspicious car parked at the McDonald's at the corner of Detroit and Columbia roads. Witnesses said the four people inside the car appeared to be using heroin.
When officers arrived, the suspect car was leaving. Police stopped the car and saw there were four people inside. The four people were separated and interviewed.

Several of the people in the car admitted to using drugs, police said. A syringe was found on the driver, a 38-year-old from Castalia, Ohio. She was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments, police said.
A second woman, a 24-year-old from Norwalks, also had a needle in her possession, police said. She told officers she was a heroin user, according to police reports. The woman had an active warrant for her arrest through the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The two men in the car admitted their female counterparts had gone into the McDonald's bathroom to use drugs, police said. The men were released.
